3. Are my Online balances current?

When you first access your Online Banking information, the balances shown will be as of the previous business day. To get current balances, click on the box in the "Display Balance" column. Your balance will be updated and the "As Of" column will reflect NOW.


4. What else can I do with Online Banking?

5. Is Mt. Washington Online Banking secure?

Yes, Mt. Washington Online Banking uses 128 bit encryption, the highest security technology available today.


6. What do I need for Mt. Washington Online Banking?

All you need is a computer with Internet access and a browser with 128-bit encryption. Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or higher and Netscape Navigator 4.0 or higher have the necessary level of security needed for Online Banking. If you are not running 128-bit encryption, you will need to upgrade your browser by going to the http://www.netscape.com download page or the http://www.microsoft.com download page and follow the download process provided by that site.
If you are an AOL user, you will need to be running AOL 6.0 or higher with 128-bit encryption. If you are running AOL without 128-bit encryption or are unsure, type Keyword browser. This will tell you if you are running 128-bit encryption and provide you with the option to upgrade if necessary.

7. Is there a charge for Mt. Washington Online Banking?

There is no charge for Mt. Washington Online Banking.

8. How do I get started?

To sign up for Mt. Washington Online Banking, you will need to complete and sign an application. Just print the application from our website, stop by one of our branch offices and pick up an application, or call us and we'll mail you an application. Completed applications should be returned to our Online Banking Specialist at Mt. Washington Bank, 430 West Broadway, P. O. Box 101 South Boston, MA 02127.

9. How long does it take for my application to be processed for Online Banking?


Once we receive your signed completed application, we will mail you a Welcome Kit with complete logon instructions.

Activity Questions

1. When I transfer funds online, when will the transfer take place?

Funds transferred between accounts will generally be posted immediately and will be reflected in your updated balances. Transfers processed during the system update (generally after 8:00 PM) may be posted the next business day.

2. Can I make a payment to my mortgage or other loan at Mt. Washington Bank?

Yes, with Online Banking you can make payments to any Mt. Washington Bank loan on which you are the primary signer. With the optional Mt. Washington Bank BillPay service you can pay any loan at any bank, any time.

3. Can I pay other bills with Mt. Washington Online Banking?

You would need to apply for the Mt. Washington Bank BillPay Service. Once you have access to Mt. Washington Online Banking, simply click on the Bill Payment button in the upper right hand corner and apply.

4. How long does it take before I can pay bills?

The Bill Payment application process takes 2 to 3 business days once you submit your completed application. After a few days, just click on the Bill Payment button and when you get the "Welcome to Bill Payment" screen you are ready to go.

BillPay Questions

1. What bills can I pay with Mt. Washington Bank BillPay?

You can pay individuals (dentist, babysitter) or companies (utilities, credit cards, etc.). You cannot make payments to the government (the IRS for instance).

2. How long will it take for my payments to be received by the individuals and companies I pay?

Payments can take up to 5 business days, especially the first time you make a payment to an individual or company payee. If the payee can accept electronic payments, the payment may be received sooner. Please allow at least 5 business days prior to your due date for the payment to be received and processed.

3. When will my account be debited for the bills that I pay online?

Your checking account will be debited within 2 business days from the date you entered or scheduled your payments online.

4. Who do I contact if the company or individual I have paid does not receive the payment?

Call Mt. Washington Bank's Ultimate Service department at 617.268.8880 or toll free at 877.223.8880 for questions regarding specific payments, status or proof of payments.

5. Is there a charge for Mt. Washington Bank BillPay?

Currently, BillPay is FREE!
