Mt. Washington Bank Elects Thomas G. Gunning to Board of Directors

(South Boston, MA) President and CEO Edward J. Merritt of Mt. Washington Bank recently announced the election of Thomas J. Gunning to the Bank’s Board of Directors. Gunning currently holds the position of Executive Director of the Building Trades Employers Association (BTEA) and their affiliated trade groups. The BTEA is one of the largest contractor associations in New England representing over 250 contractors employing the majority of the local building trade’s workers.

Gunning continues his family’s legacy of serving on the Mt. Washington Bank Board. His father, Thomas S. Gunning, retired from the board on December 31, 2008 after 38 years of serving as a Director and the last 10 as Chairman of the Board.

“We are proud to welcome Tom to our board. His long-lasting relationships with the local trade associations combined with his personal experience with the banks history and growth will help us to continue fulfilling our mission of becoming Boston’s Community Bank,” said Edward J. Merritt.

Gunning is active in numerous national trade associations, local labor-management committees; various building trades trust funds, scholarship foundations and is the state appointee to the Massachusetts Workers’ Compensation Residual Market Committee and the Massachusetts Division of Apprentice Training Council. He has been active in Norwell little league, AAU baseball, St Helens Church, the Scituate Harbor Yacht Club and the Wollaston Golf Club.

He lives in Norwell, Massachusetts with his wife Rosemary of 28 years and their five children
